Gus · Completed October 31, 2014 

Introducing "Gus" from the Reaper Miniatures Bonesylvanians line. These miniatures were available as limited editions cast in pewter in the month of October. I have to say, I love these little guys sculpted by Julie Guthrie & Bob Ridolfi.  

Practice Study: Monochrome painting based on Derek Schubert's Monochrome Painting class I took at the Reaper Artist Conference 2014. 

Lesson Learned: While color offers options, it also creates limitations. I used a range of white/blue paints on Gus & focused on painting light & dark values throughout the mini. I focused on blending his ghostly form and tried to imagine what his metal manacles & chains would look like in high contrast.
